Each week we will have a star student. The star student gets special privileges in class, such as, they are line leader for the entire week. The star student also gets to ring the bell at clean-up time. Through out the year we will go through three rounds of star student, in each round there will also be a special take-home activity. During the first round each child will get to make a poster (which I will provide you with) about themselves, they may need a little help from you. During the second round each child will get to take home the class pet, along with a journal page for you and your child to fill in. In the final round each child will get the chance to take home the mystery box. At home you and your child pick an item to put in the mystery box. On the top of the box there will be index cards for you and your child to write clues describing what is in the box. The next time your child comes to school they should bring the box, and during circle time you childs friends will have a chance to guess what they have hidden in the box. |
