“Buckets”
Each child needs to have a large 2-3 gallon plastic bucket with a handle to be used as a “cubby.” This bucket must have your child’s name on it and can be decorated with stickers by your child. This bucket should be brought to school with your child every day he/she attends. If your child may require a change of clothing, please send it in the bucket.
We will send home art work/papers AND important Preschool information and reminders in it each day, so do check it regularly. If you must send messages or tuition checks in your child’s bucket, taping them to the outside makes them more visible to our staff.
Sharing
Each week the children are invited to bring something from home which begins with the letter of the week. The teachers will keep parents informed as to the current letter, and which days are for sharing.
We ask that children do not bring other toys from home to play with at preschool as the teachers have many activities already planned. Please be aware that “war” toys and weapons of any kind are NOT welcome at our Preschool, even as part of Halloween.
Clothing
All children should dress in comfortable, casual clothing for school. Although uniforms are not required, school t-shirts are available in several colors and we would like to encourage them as wonderful, inexpensive and worry-free alternatives for everyday preschool wear.
Please send a sweater or coat with your child for outdoor play CLEARLY LABELED with his/her name. Be sure that shoes are practical for active play – sandals must have a back strap. If your child has an occasional toilet accident, please send a change of clothing, including socks and shoes, in his/her bucket.
