Our Program

Special Events

Part of our learning environment includes an opportunity for the children to have fresh air and exercise on a daily basis weather permitting. Our playground is fully equipped and has an area for the children to run, ride bikes, and offers the children o enjoy socialization opportunities. It is fenced for safety and always adequately supervised.

During Activity Centers the children are free to move from room to room, choosing activities they wish to use.  Art and music activities are an important part of our program also, and are offered daily.  Our regular schedule is flexible to accommodate for special classroom events, small group activities, pastor visits, and monthly fire drills.

KIDS AT PLAY!!!

CPP offers children the opportunity to  participate in events that help educate and broaden the spectrum of learning.

Events include:

Halloween Festivities

Children are welcome to dress in the favorite costume and celebrate by trick-or-treating around the church grounds and meeting back in the classroom for classroom parties.

Thanksgiving Feast

Each class meets in the Carmichael Presbyterian Church McMillan Hall for Thanksgiving feast.

On/Off Site Field Trips

Our field trips have included, in the past a trip to the fire station, visits from a race car and offsite field trips to Leatherbys Ice Creamery and Emigh Hardware.

Mothers Day Tea

Mothers Day tea takes place in each classroom.  It is a chance for the children to thank their mothers for all they do.  They sing songs, serve a snack, and present the mothers with a special gift.

Sacramento Zoo Visit

Kids love animals, and for this special visit from the Sacramento Zoo the animals come to the kids.  Sacramento Zoo representatives bring various animals to CPP for the kids to see, learn about and even touch.

Ice Cream Social

An ice cream social event for the whole family.  Children are encouraged to introduce their families to their new friends and teachers. This takes place on the school play yard and is fun for all.

Christmas Pageant

The annual Christmas pageant is an unforgettable tale of Mary and Joseph complete with Angles, Sheppards and even sheep.  The children sing holiday songs in the choir

.PJ’s & Pancakes

During “P” week we have a special treat of wearing our pj’s and having a pancake breakfast. The kids love showing off their favorite pajamas and sharing breakfast with their friends.

Spring Sing

Spring Sing is a Musical put on every year but the children.  Not only is the schools most exciting performance but also our biggest fund raiser.  The choir singing is followed by a spaghetti dinner and silent auction to raise money for the preschool.

End of the Year Picnic

At the end of the year we gather together for a pot luck style picnic at the park.  Kids get a chance to hang out with old friends and say their goodbye’s and “see you next year’s”.  A great end to wonderful school year.

Mud Day

Mud Day is just what it sounds like.  A day filled with mud, kids, mud, fun, mud, and more mud.  The kids dress in their grubbies or swim shorts and enjoy a day filled with water and mud.  They couldn't be happier.
